Orbeos OLED panel Osram Opto Semiconductors has introduced Orbeos, its first OLED light source, which is aimed at premium-quality functional lighting applications such as architecture, hotels and catering, offices, private homes and shops.
The Orbeos OLED panel has a round lamp surface of 80mm diameter, is 2.1mm thick and weighs 24g. Osram believes that these limited dimensions will ensure plenty of different usage options. The panel's efficiency is quoted as 25 lm/W, which Osram says is better than conventional halogen lamps. It has a warm-white color temperature of 2,800K, with a CRI of up to 80, making it suited to lighting that is "atmospheric and functional at the same time." According to Osram, OLEDs "rate highly with their pleasant, non-glare led fan light" and open up totally new design possibilities led fan for architects, lighting planners and designers, making it possible to create led fan illuminated areas such as lit ceilings or partitions. Orbeos can be switched on and off without delay, and is continuously dimmable. Unlike LEDs, heat management is simple. The panel contains no mercury and emits no UV or infrared radiation. Its brightness level is usually 1,000cd/m 2 with power input of less than a watt. In ideal operating conditions it has a lifespan of around 5,000 hours. Orbeos is available with a frosted glass surface. The panels can be easily mounted using spring contacts. "Our Orbeos adds to the wide range of lighting in the premium segment. Not only do its technical features have an effect here, but first and foremost its completely different appearance , says Markus Klein, senior director SSL at Osram Opto Semiconductors. Osram Opto Semiconductors expands its capacity for InGaAlP LEDs
Osram Opto Semiconductors is keeping pace with the constant growth of the market and switching its fabrication of red, orange and yellow light emitting diodes to 6-inch wafers. The German high-tech company is therefore lighting beard extending the fabrication of all large-wafer LEDs to the indium-gallium-aluminum-phosphide (InGaAlP) material system and therefore expanding its production capacity. The company began switching fabrication of blue LED chips back in 2011. The latest switch involves chips for LEDs intended for an extremely wide range of applications. Red and yellow LEDs are used in virtually every sector: as turn indicators, brake lights and interior vehicle lighting in the automotive sector, in displays, for projection, for signage and for color mixing systems in general illumination. lighting beard Osram Opto Semiconductors is one of the pioneers in switching production. The Regensburg based company was the first manufacturer to switch all LED colors worldwide to 4-inch wafers many years ago and is now continuing lighting beard this approach with 6-inch lighting beard wafers.

Experience from 6-inch wafer production so far has flowed directly into the current process as have the results from the projects funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (the GallEff project and the Greight project for scaling indium-gallium-nitride wafers). Osram Opto Semiconductors is therefore pursuing its platform lighting beard strategy and is already looking to the next stage in development as part of its research activities, namely even larger wafer diameters and alternative substrates. Highly promising projects are already under way in the laboratories of the high-tech company and in other more general funded projects. Discreet surveillance thanks to 940 nm Like its sister IRED product, the SFH 4725S, the new Oslon Black has a wavelength of 940 nm. This long-wave radiation at the red end of the spectrum is barely visible to the human eye. Even the slight red glow which can be perceived at a wavelength of 850 nm rarely occurs domus lighting with this version. Infrared domus lighting LEDs are hence ideal for discreet domus lighting surveillance applications; domus lighting for instance in the main hall of a bank or at border crossings.
